Bicheno

The Airbnb here is a very modern studio unit but really too small for a comfortable stay. Everything is nice and clean but, if we had brought the cat, there would be no room to swing her! Compared to our previous few days in a tired but roomy beach bach, we know which one wins out.

Our laundry has been building up so we popped down to the village and Miriam set herself up in the local Laundromat while I went for a walk to visit the local blowhole and walk up the small hill overlooking the bay. Not a particularly strenuous walk but it filled in some time.

Once the washing was done, we popped into a local bakery for a coffee and a Party Pie (that's a Mince Savoury in NZ). We also bought a couple of Panini's for lunch later on. Miriam also cadged a half a cup of flour from the staff so she can make us Scallops Mornay for dinner. The scallops she bought last night when we got our fish'n'chip meal from the Lobster Shack.

Next stop will be the Freycinet Peninsula National Park where we plan a few walks.
